Telogical has developed a number of unique technical assets and capabilities that are a key factor in our ability to deliver competitive telecom & cable pricing intelligence solutions of unrivaled quality.

"Deep Crawl" Web Monitoring

The great majority of competitive telecom & cable pricing information is first published on the corporate Web Monitor Screen Capturewebsite of each service provider.

The problem, however, is that this information is often buried deep in the site - perhaps even in the shopping cart - and in order to get it, you often have to go through complex routines that include entering data (e.g. customer address) into forms, selecting certain options, etc.

To address this problem, Telogical has developed a web monitoring tool that is capable of navigating through these complex layers of a telecom or cable company's corporate website and capturing every change that occurs on a daily basis. Additionally, each change occurring on the page is highlighted to allow our researchers to more easily identify the change.

Telogical's web monitoring tool is able to monitor virtually any type of information that resides on a website including .pdf documents (an important consideration for tariff monitoring).

Using this technnology, Telogical currently monitors approximately 30,000 unique web pages each day.

The Telogical Information Model

  1. Unified: Throw any plan - regardless of product category, competitor, location, pricing scheme, terms, conditions, etc - at our information model, and it will "fit". Elegantly.

  2. Highly Expressive: In other words, the structure of the data matches up very closely with what occurs in reality. For example, let's say that a given service provider charges one price for Internet access when sold as a stand alone product, but offers a $5 discount when this product is bundled with certain phone, video, or wireless plans. Rather than footnoting this rule in a text field, our information model actually captures the business rule.

Armed with this capability, Telogical is able to develop end-user applications that make sense of what would otherwise be overwhelmingly complex.

Following are some examples of features & functionality that are made possible by the Telogical Information Model:

  • Dynamically Generated Talking Points - Select any two competing plans and instantly view a list of the key advantages that one plan has over the other.

  • Promotional Price Calculation - Searches for all associated promotions and then recalculates the monthly price to show the promotional price.

  • Total Cost of Ownership Calculations - Assesses the monthly recurring fees, one-time fees, equpiment costs, promotional discounts, and bundling discounts and then calculates the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for a selected period of time.
