FCC Purchases Telogical Systems Broadband Pricing Data

BriefingWire.com, 1/13/2010 - The National Broadband Taskforce within the Federal Communications Commission has purchased Telogical Systems broadband pricing data for use in the development of the Commission's National Broadband Plan under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (Recovery Act) was signed into law on February 17, 2009. The Broadband Initiatives funded in the Act are intended to accelerate broadband deployment across the United States. The Recovery Act authorizes the FCC to create a National Broadband Plan, that "shall seek to ensure that all people of the United States have access to broadband capability and shall establish benchmarks for meeting that goal."

The National Broadband Plan, to be presented by the FCC on March 17, 2010, addresses the broadband needs of all Americans, with particular emphasis on those that do not currently have broadband. The plan, once executed, will facilitate greater broadband availability to all Americans. These new capabilities will advance telemedicine, distance learning, economic development, and increased employment throughout the US.

The FCC is also interested in assessing broadband affordability which requires a pricing and offer inventory. Telogical is uniquely qualified to bring broadband pricing data to national policy makers through the company's extensive, geographically-aware database of product, pricing, and promotion information for telecom & cable service providers throughout the United States. Telogical Systems is pleased to leverage its strengths in support of greater economic development and improved quality of life in the United States.
